The Full Tale
Whole Hearted Kitchen grew out of my lifelong love of plants, traditional medicines, and the amazing science that connects them. When my family and I moved to Vernonia and became surrounded by nature, that quiet calling to learn more about herbs became impossible to ignore. I began researching, experimenting, and connecting with a wonderful circle of friends who share a deep passion for natural healing.
Every balm, oil, and soap I make is created using locally grown or responsibly wildcrafted herbs, always following organic practices and always with respect for the plants and the land. My approach centers on gentle, everyday support that nurtures the body and calms the spirit (though I’ll admit, that bug bite relief really does work fast!).
My journey with herbs has always felt like something that was waiting for me, a path that revealed itself piece by piece. I’ve always believed that every plant has a purpose, and when my family moved to the forest in 2018, that belief grew roots. I began exploring the wild herbs right in our yard, learning their names, their uses, and the quiet ways they offer healing.
Over time, I found myself surrounded by a wonderful community of friends and teachers who shared their herbal knowledge with generosity and heart. Through motherhood, health challenges, and the stillness of the pandemic years, herbs became both a comfort and a calling. They gave me a sense of connection. To the earth, to my community, and to myself.
Whole Hearted Kitchen grew naturally from that love. It’s a space where I bring together everything I’ve learned. The science, the tradition, and the everyday magic of kitchen herbs and wild plants. I believe healing can be simple, accessible, and rooted in what we already have in our homes and gardens.
Whether I’m blending a balm, sharing an herbal recipe, or teaching someone how to use what’s in their spice cabinet, my hope is always the same: to inspire people to reconnect with nature, one plant at a time.
Thank you for being here, and for walking this herbal path with me
